‘TOPS’  was founded in 1988 and has been successfully trading with both the trade and domestic markets ever since.

The Firm is currently managed by two business partners, David and Kevin, who have worked in the firm since it was founded.

We are one of only a few Essex fireplace suppliers offering a complete service, from design concept and manufacture, to delivery and installation. All work is carried out by our own staff of experienced craftsmen.

Should you contact us, you will be spoken to by one of our skilled craftsmen. We do not employ a sales team and no pressure will be applied – just friendly, experienced help and advice.

Please be aware that natural materials such as stone and marble often contain minor variations in colour and veining. These are natural characteristics and should not be looked upon as faults. Also, all illustrations are for guidance purposes only.

We would like to apologise for the fact our website is still under construction and does not yet cover our complete range of products. Every effort is being made to have this completed as soon as possible. In the absence of these details, a brief description of our products follows:

FIREPLACES – in Marble, Stone & Granite:

Our range covers in-house manufactured designs, which is ably supplemented by a host of models from the U.K’s leading manufacturers and importers. Many designs are displayed in our Canvey Showrooms, where we have a full range of supplier’s literature. We also have an extensive range of material samples.

Materials used include Portuguese Limestone, Crème Marfil Marble, Black Sea Marble and Travertine. Both polished and honed finishes are available. Hearths and back panels are available in matching colours, Absoluto Black Granite, or Rosso La Venti.

In some cases, features from one fireplace design can be incorporated into the design of another. And if you are still unable to find the design of your choice, we can often consider customer’s own designs for manufacture.

FIREPLACES – in Moulded White Plaster:

This range features both traditional and modern styles, all produced at our Canvey Works by our own experienced craftsmen.

Most models are constructed as one-piece reinforced units, producing join-free designs. Some designs have a stone-effect finish. And if required, all models can later be painted to match any room’s décor.

Hearths and back panels can be supplied in a range of materials and finished polished or honed.

COVING & DADO RAILS – in Moulded White Plaster:

All coving and Dado Rails are hand manufactured at our Canvey Works. Both plain and decorative designs are available in a range of sizes, moulded from either supported rubber or fibreglass moulds, and incorporate internal reinforcement. The range covers most universally accepted designs as well as our own in-house designs.

In some cases, we are able to replicate old designs no longer available. But whatever design you choose, be assured it will be expertly manufactured, and if required, fitted by our own experienced installation team.

CEILING ROSES – in Moulded White Plaster:

Virtually all tastes in design, shape and size are catered for in our comprehensive range of ceiling roses. It is impossible to illustrate all those available, so if your preferred model is not featured on our website, feel free to contact or visit us.

As with all our products, fitting can be carried out by our own installers if required.

DECORATIVE MOULDINGS – in Moulded White Plaster:

Again, it is difficult to cover every design, but a large stock is available for viewing at our Canvey Showrooms. Designs include: Cornice, Uplights & Light Diffusers, Panel Mouldings, Corbels, Wall Plaques, and a host of others. Why not contact us with your requirements?

ELECTRIC FIRES:

A comprehensive range of leading supplier’s models are available, and on display at our Canvey Showrooms. Various flame effect designs are featured, which can be fitted with pebbles, coals etc. Suppliers include: ‘Creative’, ‘Eclipse’, ‘Dimplex’, ‘Valor’, and ‘P.J.Products’. 

GAS FIRES:

A full range of Gas Fires is included in our products range. Some new designs can now be fitted without access to an existing chimney or flue.

While we do not fit Gas Fires, we would be happy to recommend a Corgi Approved Gas Fitter should one be required.
