THE FOLLOWING IS A SAMPLE LISTING OF THE MANY QUESTIONS WE HAVE BEEN ASKED OVER THE YEARS. NOT ONLY WILL THE ANSWERS HELP YOU MAKE A MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE CHOICE, BUT ALSO PROVIDE A WIDER UNDERSTANDING OF OUR COMPANY, IT’S PRODUCTS, PROCESSES AND WORKING PROCEDURES.
Q: I work during the day, so can delivery and installation
or fixing be arranged outside normal working hours?
A: Evening and weekend visits can be arranged.
Q: How can I be sure the size of fireplace I have chosen
will fit correctly into my home?
A: If required, one of our craftsmen will visit for a
survey. Measurements will be taken to confirm the
correct fit of your fireplace. This is a normal practice,
and one we firmly recommend and are happy to
provide.
Q: I want to replace some damaged coving, and also
complete a building extension with the same style
coving. Unfortunately, I have been unable to
find matching coving in anyone’s range, including
yours. Can you help?
A: If the coving in question is of a plain design, all we
require is a full size section template which can be cut
from a suitably stiff cardboard. However, if your
coving incorporates a patterned design, we will require
‘one pattern’ length. If this is not possible, we can
often make an in-situ mould from your existing
coving, but this will of course warrant extra costs. In
all cases, we will produce a new mould from which we
will manufacture the coving lengths you require.
Q: Do you repair fireplaces?
A: While we will do all we can to help, this question can
only be answered with a home visit to assess the
damage and possible repair. While we may be able
to supply replacement parts, we cannot guarantee a
perfect colour or finish match. Marble and stone are
naturally produced materials and can vary in
both colour and veining. We can however, supply a
sample of our closest match and discuss with you
the best way forward.
Q: Can you supply a fireplace to my own design?
A: One of our craftsmen will be pleased to discuss your
fireplace design and if necessary draw up
complimentary manufacturing drawings to suit your
requirements.
Q: Do you install gas fires?
A: No. But we would be happy to recommend a
reputable Corgi approved gas fitter if required.
Q: Do you fix coving?
A: Yes. Please contact us with your requirements and we
would be pleased to provide a very competitive
quotation.
Q: I know you manufacture and supply fireplaces, but do
you charge for delivery, and can you provide an
installation service?
A: Normally, like most businesses, we need to make a
small charge for delivery. Installing fireplaces is carried
out by our own experienced team of installers. If
installation is required, delivery is free of charge.
Q: What are the advantages of a stone or marble
fireplace?
A: Predominantly, durability. Marble and stone are far
harder wearing than plaster, and therefore not so
prone to damage. They also offer a wide choice
of natural colours.
Q: What are the benefits of moulded plaster fireplaces?
A: One key factor is the price, as this process offers a
range of complex and traditional designs, without the
exorbitant cost of carving. Also, each reinforced design
is manufactured as a one piece, joint free unit.
Additionally, plaster is easier to repair, and can be
painted to match any room décor.
Q: Do you have letters of recommendation I can view?
A: We would be happy to show you letters from satisfied
customers, at our Canvey Showrooms.
Q: When your website is completed, will it list your
complete range of fireplaces?
A: No. We have been granted a supplier agency with
most UK manufacturers and importers of fireplaces.
Their combined ranges would make searching an
exhaustible task. Please contact us with your
requirements, or visit us at our Canvey showrooms
where we have a comprehensive range of fireplaces on
display, and a vast choice of catalogues.
